Building Permit for an Industrial Facility

After the allocation of a plot of industrial land to an investor, the investor visits the department to:

1. Obtain a copy of "Planning & Design Criteria" booklet, which is issued by the Department of Industrial Estates.
2. Obtain a list of the approved consulting firms.
3. Discussing and technical questions and or consultancy requests that the investor may have before the initiation/ start of design.

Stage of Design Preparation:

1. Selection of a classified and approved Consulting Firm (by the Committee of Accepting Engineers).
2. The Consulting Firm prepares a preliminary design for distributing the land and illustrating hoe the land is utilized in order to be accepted and approved by the Department of Industrial Estates.
3. Preparation of detailed drawings for the industrial project / facility, and then receiving / obtaining a copy of the Services / Utilities from the Department of Industrial Estates in order to get the drawings approved by the concerned service and specialized department / agencies.
4. After receiving all the approvals, the Department of Industrial Estates issues the Building permit for the Industrial project/ facility.

Building Execution Stage:

1. Appointment and hiring of a highly qualified main contractor (classified & approved).
2. The Consulting Firm submits a guarantee for the supervision of the entire building works.
3. The consulting Firm submits a time table / agenda of the building stage.
4. The consulting Firm submits monthly reports illustrating progress to the Department of Industrial Estates.
5. Representative officials from the Department of Industrial Estates pay field regular visits to follow up with the building works.

The Completion of Building Stage:

1. The investor submits to the Department of Industrial Estates request application for Industrial Facility / Project Building Complication Certificate.
2. The Department of Industrial Estates inspects the compliance of the completed facility with the approved drawings as well as the compliance the general rules facility with the approved drawings as well as the compliance the general rules and measures of the Department.
3. The Department of Industrial estates issues the building Completion certificate.
4. Based on the building Completion Certificate, the department of Industrial Estates coordinates with the concerned and specialized Services/ utilities department / Agencies to connect the utilities / services as pr the requirements of the Industrial project / facility.
