“Industrial Development in Qatar”
is a periodically updated brochure issued by DID to provide users
with reliable industrial information and citizens of the State of
Qatar as well as foreign investors, technology providers and contractors.
It is an integrated overview on the overall industrial make up of
Qatar and a sencere effort in an attempt to arrive at a closer,
more tangible outlook of the national industrial scene. The book
describes in its six chapters the historric, geographic, political
and economic background of the State of Qatar, and gives and overview
of present status and future outlook oth the industrial development.
The industrial strategy of the State
and the generous incentices offered to both national and foreign
investors to promote further industrial development are also discussed.

land in the Small & Medium Scale Industrial Area (SMSIA) in Doha city. As a contribution
by the ministry to the efforts the State of Qatar is exerting to develop industrial
projects, the ministry has established the Small & Medium Scale Industrial Area
in Doha city By the establishment of SMSIA, the ministry aims to attract unique
industrial projects that employs latest of the art modern production methods and
that are environmentally friendly by keeping it clean and pure which shall participate
and contribute to the industrial development and evolution in Qatar which eventually
shall return with high benefits to the national economy. The Department of Industrial
Estates is pleased to introduce to you it’s Investor’s Guide that illustrates
how to obtain a plot of industrial land in SMSIA and that is in accordance to
specific rules and measures that must be complied with.
Qatar Industrial Directory is designed
to provide decision makers, planners, investors and other users
with industrial statistical information about industrial projects
in Qatar except for tiny industries with capital investment below
QR250,000.
The directory contains two main parts.
Part one is for registered (operating) establishments, and part
two for licensed (unregistered) establishments grouped by industrial
activity in nine categories according to the UN International Standard
for Industrial Classification (ISIC) of all Economic Activities-
Edition 2. The data include project name and address, product mix
and project location.
